Would you look at that! I actually made some progress!

Hey guys, it’s Amy! So, as many of you know, I’m currently participating in the #ReadThemAllThon!!! (PLEASE check out my TBR- linked in the hashtag- if you haven’t already! I’d love to hear your thoughts, and feel free to link me to your TBR!) It is SUPER FUN and the hashtag is FULL OF LINKS. IT IS LITERALLY GOING TO BLOW UP MY COMPUTER. IT IS ENTIRELY UNHEALTHY TO HAVE THIS MANY TABS OPEN. FOR ME AND THE BABY LAPTOP. Anyway, if you’ve seen me AT ALL on Twitter (This post is just a ginormous link bomb), you’ll know that #READTHEMALLTHON IS AMAZING. AND I’M DOING TERRIBLY. So far, we’re 4 days in. And I’ve read two books. And everyone else is so much more accomplished than me. *sobs in corner but not really because self love am I right* ANYHOO. I’m currently at 227 CP (don’t you dare scoff at me! I saw that!), not counting this post as I will gain 22 CP- 20 for the review, 2 for the tweet (because I totally snuck a hashtag in there). If you have no idea what I’m talking about, you should read my TBR post! Linked above! *cheesy grin* This whole “just winging it” thing is failing, so let’s do bullets!

  • I’ve finished 2 books.
  • I’ve posted 27 tweets using the hashtag.
  • I’ve posted 1 tweet of a Pokemon on my book using the hashtag.
  • I’ve reviewed exactly zero books (not counting this post, IT’S NOT OVER YET).
  • I’ve read 676 pages.
  • I have all of these stats because I’m using the best spreadsheet ever.
  • I’ve earned my Earth Badge.
  • I’ve earned my Soul Badge.
  • I’ve slacked (A LOT).
  • I’m at 227 CP.
  • I’ve evolved once!!!
  • I’m now Prinplup!

Whoopee!!!!! That was still…. Incredibly unorganized. For bullet points. Oh well. Hopefully I haven’t left anything out. In any case, let’s get to the bottom of this post: A review for my first book!

ReadThemAllThon-Badge08-Earth

Aquifer by Jonathan Friesen was actually a book I got (along with 23 others) from Book Outlet a little while ago…. And never did a book haul for. I WILL, I WILL. I JUST HAVEN’T TAKEN PICTURES YET. I’M HOPING TO GET IT POSTED IN THE NEXT WEEK.

I chose this book for my Earth badge, because I thought it was post-apocalyptic. It was and it wasn’t; basically, there is only one source of water, and nobody is allowed to feel any emotions, or terrible things will happen. (Terrible things will actually happen; that wasn’t sarcasm.)

“I was speaking of threats. For example…” She guides me to a marble stand, which supports a tiny black box. “Behold, the smart phone.”

So essentially, it’s post-apocalyptic. Basically. Mostly. I’m counting it.

I liked the premise! I think it’s a lot like the Giver (although I haven’t read that in forever and I really need to), but I liked the concept, and I thought it was well-thought out. I gave it four stars on Goodreads, because at a few parts I was confused, and sometimes a few things just didn’t make much sense. Most of the relationships progressed in a reasonable manner, and I really enjoyed Massa’s character. I simply wanted to know more about him and his past.

The world was very interesting, and I liked seeing the underground world, and how the “two worlds” appeared to be so different, but in reality, were quite similar.

Overall, this book was just very interesting, and I was totally rooting for the characters! I would recommend this as a dystopian fantasy to pretty much anyone! If you’re participating, be sure to let me know, and I’ll check out your TBR and your Twitter! 😉 Toodles!

OH OH OH I LIED. I just want to let you guys know that there’s probably going to be a lot of reviews in the next few weeks (basically the whole readathon), as I am planning to finish and review all eight books (GOTTA GET THOSE POINTS), and I generally don’t have good experiences with multiple posts in one day. And I have a ton of requested reviews (some of which I’ve actually completed) that I want to post ASAP! Alright, I’m leaving for real this time. Toodles!

Are you participating in #ReadThemAllThon? How’s your CP level so far? Don’t be shy, I won’t judge! Have you read this book? Thoughts? Are you planning on reading this book? DID I JUST INTRODUCE YOU TO #READTHEMALLTHON? IF SO, YOU CAN JOIN UP UNTIL THE VERY END OF THE READATHON. YOU MUST. IF YOU NEED PERSUASION, COMMENT AND I SHALL PROVIDE.
