What Are You Reading Wednesday?

Hi all! 😀 I’m back for my WAYRW on Thursday. Okay, just stating the obvious here but still… 😉 Anyway, I know I promised you a WAYRW Wednesday, but I was spending time with a good friend I hadn’t seen in a while, and then I ended up making cookies (which by the way are extraordinarily delicious if I do say so myself, and they taste exactly like fudge but they have oats so the texture is really different), and as you see, one thing led to another in a big ol’ domino effect (and wow this is a long sentence and a run-on to boot if I’m not mistaken) and the post simply didn’t get done. I actually started it, but I just have so many things I want to tell you and so there you have it. There is simply not enough time in the world to talk about books AND read them, don’t you think? Sheesh, I really didn’t mean to talk about this for so long. The short version of what I just said? I’m sorry, I’m here now, let’s do this baby!

In case you haven’t heard of it, What Are You Reading Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Its A Reading Thing. Simply answer these three easy questions:

1. What’s the name of your current read?

2. Go to page 34 in your book or 34% in your ebook and share one complete sentence.

3. Would you like to live in the world that exists within your book? Why or why not?

Okay guys, I’m ashamed. I haven’t really admitted it to myself before now, but… I just got out of a wee bit of a slump.

Yes, that’s right, up until last night I was still reading Across the Universe, and I was barely halfway through. I’m sorry to all the slower readers (no offense, it’s all about content, not speed. If it works for you, I think it’s perfect.) who think I’ve lost my marbles because I’m upset about having read a book in a week.

Oh, heck, I’m just happy because the book was good! Well actually that mixed with the fact of THE HEIR I GOT THE HEIR FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, so around midway through the week, I made a library visit. I swear, I just about died of excitement right there when they took it down and brought it over and I was just like, OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG IS THIS REALITY OR AM I NUTS!?!?!?! Have I told you about The Heir and why I’ve been waiting SO FREAKING (for lack of a better word; we don’t cuss) LONG?!? Tell you what; if I have, skip the next paragraph.

On May 4th, I preordered it (it came out the fifth, right? I wasn’t expecting it to come immediately because I ordered it so late but still) along with 4 (by the way, since this is the biggest number of books I ever buy at one time- I’m a big library goer- I did do a book haul, but Nikki hasn’t put her part in so… It’s really old :-/) other books. Towards the end of the month, I had gotten all of my books except for The Heir, so I went on Amazon to check where it was at. And whadya know!?! It’s not even sent yet! The approximate arrival was June 22 and I was like, UGGGGG so annoying but I can live with that. However, June 20th or whatever rolls around and I’m thinking, Isn’t THE HEIR supposed to be coming soon? I should really check on that… And by golly, they had sent me an email saying that it had backordered (or something I don’t speak shipping language haha) and if I still wanted it, I had to verify and blah blah blah by July 5 (or something) and then hopefully they would be able to send it out by late July and… I gave up. I went to the library site and put a hold on it. And see, I have gotten it way before Amazon was planning and plus, FREE!!! 😉 As you can probably tell, I’m disappointed in Amazon and I applaud my local library for being efficient and simple. As you probably cannot tell, my sanity is still intact and I will be moving on now.

1. Along with The Heir, I picked up Clockwork Prince and Clockwork Princess (by Cassandra Clare), so I’m currently reading the former.

2. “‘Very upset Shadowhunters refused to all die when I wanted them too.” Haha. ‘Twould be funny, it would. 😉

3. No. I’m not a fan of the 1800s or early 19s really either because they basically treated women like crap and accessories.

Okay (never fear, this post will eventually end but NOT YET), I also know I promised you a continuation of my Top Ten Tuesday…. I still have three books! (For those of you who missed my last TTT and are too lazy to scroll down, well, I’m making pizza- yes really, I love baking!- and I have time to kill, so you can find that post here, but I’m warning you. Yes you that clicked that link! YOU’RE ON MY LIST!!!! (Dun dun dunnnnnn) Mwahahahaha!) Here goes:

8. This is a duh moment for me. I can’t believe I put Tessa and not Will!!! I mean, how nuts is that? (Y’all sensing that I like the word nuts?) So, duh, Will from Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare –
Just because I hate him doesn’t mean he doesn’t make the list… (Cough cough yes it does until I run out of people lol cough cough)

9. Hazel and Augustus from The Fault In Our Stars by John Green –

I promise (cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle through my eye) I didn’t forget this one. I just wasn’t sure if I was qualified to count it. Remember, I haven’t read the whole book. But I did finally decide I could use it because a) I need another one for my list and b) I’ve read a bit past halfway, so I did get to the part where they’re like completely obsessed with that one book and so they travel to wherever that one guy lives just so they can meet the author. Sorry to all of you TFIOS fangirls who are either in shock or horrified.

10. Dorian from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas –

I know I mentioned Celaena in the other post, but Dorian is such a book lover that he deserves a number all his own. 🙂 That, or I just ran out of people to put in… But who could think such a thing of me? *innocent smile*

Alright guys, I’d love to stay and chat more but we all know that one of my main features is how short my posts are compared to Nikki’s. Hahahaha. 🙂 Plus, my iPod is about to die… :-/ I love hearing from you all and you know I’ll be stalking your blogs back! Have a wonderful week, I’m working on some more posts but I don’t know that I’ll get anything else published this week/end. 😦 Well, happy reading, and let me make you hungry on your way out with pics of my cookies and the pizza before it was cooked! (It didn’t last long enough once out of the oven for me to take a pic hehe) Mwahahahaha!

Toodaloo! 👋🏻

  1. I have The Fault in Our Stars in my to-read stack, but I haven’t gotten to it yet. I’ll probably read it sometime next week. I’ve heard great things about it, so I’m looking forward to it. And the cookies you made look great!

    2. I don’t know, but magical traveling is! Like, for instance, after reading Amy’s post, I hired Magnus to make me a portal and I went over to her house and stole all her cookies! Mwahahaha! (Sorry to butt in on your convo…. Cookie?)
