Wow, really?

Amy again! It’s already Top Ten Tuesday:

(Do you like the new picture? I think I’m going to start rotating which ones I use) And the topic this week is a freebie! I know, right? Feels like there’s been so many of those lately… Anyway, for those of you who don’t know, Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish.

On a side note, we have not done any posts other than Top Ten Tuesday in three weeks!!! Agh! What must you all think of us??? We are both very VERY sorry but the school year is just finishing up and we are EXTREMELY busy. And by this last we I mean Nikki, softball anyone? However we are not abandoning you, I’m sure you’ve all noticed us nosing around in your business and asking you questions… 🙂 This time of year is just so busy for us and we are both trying to juggle a million things at once.

Anyone have a copy of this poster that I can borrow?

As for my choice of topic! I decided to go SUPER simple, and so I picked:

Top Ten Recent Reads and What I Liked About Them

Why not, right? Alright, sit tight guys; this is gonna be a long one.

Requiem by Lauren Oliver-
I said this series was good. (Note from Nikki: This series was more than good, Amy!!!!) I wasn’t lying. And then I read this book. It was no longer good. It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! That ending though. I have a love/hate relationship with the type of ending that Requiem had (Note from Nikki: I HATED THE ENDING!) ; I love that you have the ability to imagine what happens but I also want it to be laid right before me so I know it’s set in stone (paper) that the characters had a happy ending or my favorite couple ended up together, etc. Do any of you feel this way? Anyway, I really felt like she took the story somewhere in this book, rather than just turning it over as she had in the second. (NFN: I love the second book!)

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell-
Talk about that kind of ending! If there was an award for the biggest cliffhangery standalone, this book would win it. I really loved the characters, especially Park,

but (Nikki, please don’t kill me) I didn’t always feel like this book was speaking to me. (NFN: Amy, you better hide!!)Oh my, I sounded crazy. Anyway. I just felt like some actions they took really couldn’t be justified or sometimes a scene might go too fast or vice versa. Overall, I still loved this book, and I would definitely recommend it to all of you. Just watch out for Richie. ;-P (NFN: I wish Eleanor would have told Park more of her true feelings instead of playing it cool. I hate when people do that.)

John Green makes such a good point. Just wanted to make that clear.
Guys, technical difficulties. I’m so sad right now! I had the best pictures planned for this. But it looks like it’s just words now. Hey, we all love words, right? Readers and stuff?
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard-
Did I say I loved all these books? Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t hate RQ, but… I still have mixed feelings about it. Are any of you RQ readers out there willing to let me cry on your shoulder? Or at least talk about it?
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Mass-
Heir of Fire is on here, and may I just say, Crown of Midnight was amazing because of Chaol, but beyond that, it has nothing on Heir of Fire.
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead-
Waaaaaaay awesome. Rose and Dimitri. My work is done here. (NFN: You’re welcome.) Ahem! PLEASE EXCUSE A CERTAIN SOMEONE WHO KEEPS INTERRUPTING ME!
Eyes Like Stars by –
This book was so intriguing! Halfway through the book I had no idea where it was going and I wasn’t sure if I would be reading the sequel. But hey, it redeemed itself! With the love triangle, the main character, and the interesting format, this book easily won me over.
The Forever Song by Julie Kagawa-
If this were a joke and I was a famous comedian (heaven forbid), this is the part where I would walk off the stage with my hands up saying, I’m done. I’ve said enough. And truly, I have. (NFN: Ahem, the true comedian is here! *people get tomato-like projectiles prepped for throwing)
Angelfall by Susan Ee-
This book was perfection. No doubt about it. The characters. The plot. The setting. Raffryn. RAFFRYN! Man, guys, I’m thinking OTP. But I have so many mixed feelings on Penryn’s mom and sister! Those of you who haven’t read it won’t understand the sister part… It was SO SAD.
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas-
I mentioned before that this book was a million times better than the other ones. I did not lie. This book is beautiful and if you haven’t read it yet- *cough cough Nikki cough cough* -it is vital to my very existence that you start immediately. I will waste away if you don’t. Go on, yes I actually mean leave this blog! And don’t come back until you’ve read it! Alright, went a little psycho there… Let’s go on.
Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge-
Whoowee!!! Awesome book. I literally own it (which you all would know if somebody

    1. Thanks so much! I know, right? Angel fall was perfection. But hey, do you know what the title of the second book is? It seems to have slipped my mind… Hehe. We can agree to disagree, because Dorian and Chaol are BOTH so awesome. Honestly, I was crushed by Sorscha’s death… They were so perfect for each other!!!
