The “Booktuber Book Blogger” Tag!

Booktuber.png

Hey guys! I know that at the beginning of the month I said I was going to attempt Bookmas… Welp, that was a total fail! I apologize for the unplanned mini-hiatus; finals were unexpectedly stressful and I’ve just had really severe blogger burnout lately. However, I feel like I’m in recovery and I do want to try and start posting on specific days of the week in the new year to help me be more consistent.

Anyhoo, I saw the Booktuber Booktuber tag (original) on Peter Likes Books’ booktube channel a little while ago and absolutely LOVED the idea. It’s super unique and cute and I’m always looking for more crossover between booktube and blogging, so I figured, why not bring it on to my blog? 😉 Besides, I know I’ve said this before, but sometimes it just feels like we’re all on different corners of the world and just… so… far… away……… *reaches* *finds nothing* *retreats* I love our community but I want to be CLOSER. *makes awkward eye contact* Okay guys, time to put myself out there and probably say a bunch of un-reciprocated things I will regret. Yay!

1) Who is your bookish OG?

black and white + me + shelfie

Yikes, I actually had to look up the meaning of this one! The gist of an “OG” (correct me if I’m wrong) seems to be a person that you hold in the highest regard with the utmost respect. For this one I just had to go with Cait @ Paper Fury! She’s truly the queen of blogging and I have so much respect for how well she keeps up with blogging, twitter, bookstagram, and writing (of course- I’m super excited for her debut in June!). She’s such an inspiration and I think it’s fabulous that she’s come so far. Yay!

2) What is a bookish persona that comes across as incredibly smart?

Marie

I had to do a bit of thinking for this one (as I think every bookworm has intellect), but when I started going through the list of blogs I follow, I knew it had to be Marie @ Drizzle & Hurricane Books. I’m not going to lie, I haven’t interacted with her nearly enough, but her blog is gorgeous (it’s come so far!) and I always feel like I’m having an intellectual conversation when I read her posts and reviews. She’s just so thoughtful!

3) Who would you like to be your bookish sister?

For this one (of course!) I had to go with Merphy Napier. I’m not sure if she knows this, but she’s one of my absolute favorite booktubers (or just YouTubers in general). She’s so down-to-earth, her family’s adorable, and she’s fun to watch! I appreciate that she does things differently than most booktubers. She annotates her books, reads a lot of classics, likes to reread, and has a decent amount of unpopular opinions. Her channel is so fresh and unique- and she’s an author too! I’m excited to check out her book. 🙂 I feel like she would be very frank with me and… I dunno, a sisterly person. 😂

4) Who would you like to be your bookish brother?

To be fair, this person hasn’t been active in quite a while. But there isn’t anyone else I could possibly see myself choosing besides him. TT @ Intro to Blurb has such a unique and fun persona on his blog and across social media. Technically he was still just a baby blogger when we met, but we immediately became friends (or at least I would hope so!). He definitely did (and still does, active or no) deserve more attention! He’s so on top of the blogging and bookstagram game… Here’s hoping he comes back at some point!

EDIT: He just actually returned to blogging today! Eek, check his blog out!

5) Who is the hardest-working social media bookworm?

This was probably the easiest answer to come up with. My immediate response is definitely Rimpy @ Rimpy’s Reads. She showed up to the blogging game a few months ago (I think?) and I was amazed by how fast her blog grew, which was definitely thanks to her social media presence! She’s managed to accumulate a whopping near 700 followers in a relatively short time and can I just say, she deserves it! She’s constantly interacting on Twitter and promo-ing her blog. Which is worth the attention. I’m super impressed with how well and quickly she caught on to blogging!

6) Who is your bookish crush?

Image result for booksandlala

Welp, this isn’t an embarrassing question at all. I don’t have a crush- in real life or online. And I don’t get crushes in books, either. So I’m going with Lala @ Booksandlala because I absolutely LOVE her channel and videos…. And I’m banking on the fact that she’ll probably (hopefully) never read this. 😂 But really, Lala is fabulous. She’s another one of my absolute favorite booktubers, and for good reason! Her channel is so aesthetically pleasing, for one, and she just makes the most put-together videos. I’ve binge-watched her entire closet unhaul video series at least 3 times by now. They’re that good. Definitely check her out if you haven’t already!

7) What bookworm’s party would you like to go to?

-1

Ah, this was super easy for me! Unfortunately, this person also hasn’t been active since March. But she’s so perfect for this prompt that I had to choose her! I think any party hosted by Becca @ Becca & Books would be incredibly fun. She has such a spunky personality and she always has the most unique and fun ideas! I feel like this would translate well to a party; she would have the coolest and most neat music and decorations, and only the most interesting people would be there! She’s fabulous. Check out her blog. Trust me on this. 😉

8) Which bookworm would you like to take to lunch?

Tiana

This one is also an easy choice! I ALWAYS enjoy talking with Tiana @ The Book Raven. We’ve done a couple of buddy reads together and I had a fantastic experience! She always brings to light different aspects of books and I love her recs! Plus, she managed to grow her blog a CRAZY amount this year which I can’t help but be SUPER impressed with! She reads a lot of “under the radar” books (which are the most interesting to me), so I always appreciate hearing her opinions on those. Anyhoo, I just feel like we could have a very intellectual and fun lunch!

9) Who would you want to be your bookish best friend?

Image may contain: 1 person

Hands down, without a doubt, I have to go with Dani @ Perspective of a Writer. She has the CUTEST blog (with the neatest graphics) and her content is always well put together and fun to read. She is WAY too nice and I always appreciate her lovely comments. Her blog is awesome, she’s awesome, it’s all fabulous! AND she cracks me up. So there’s that. Anyhoo, Dani, I hope this isn’t too forward, but I’d love to continue to be/become friends! XD Definitely make sure to check out her blog if you haven’t already.

10) Who do you feel is a bookish ingenue?

I had to look this one up too. An ingenue seems to be someone who is “innocent” or just very straightforward and untainted by society/outside influence? For this prompt, I have to go with May @ Forever and Everly. I just discovered her blog fairly recently and her posts are just so fun to read! She is untainted by the mango haters, her graphics are adorable, and she has the cutest blogging voice. I always enjoy clicking on her blog and she’s just awesome to talk with!

11) What are two shoutouts for people who really deserve an honorable mention?

The first person I want to mention is Kathy @ Books and Munches. She has an adorable blog and such a fun personality! She’s pretty fabulous and I always love talking with her. It’s always exciting to receive comments from her and her blog is just so fantastic!

Aaaaaaand finally, we have Evelina @ Avalinah’s Books. She has such a put-together blog, she’s super nice, and she created the State of the ARC meme (which is super cool)! Plus, she loves stats just as much as I do (which is quite a bit), so it’s always fun to see her various reading stats. Fingers crossed she does some for the end of the year! 🙂

Aaaaaaalrighty! That brings us to the end of this tag! I really hope you enjoyed reading this post (and that you check out all of these wonderful people); it was truly a joy to make and I always love a chance to shout out some of my favorite bookworms. That being said, if you aren’t listed here, I swear that doesn’t mean I love you any less – but I couldn’t possibly fit all of the blogs I follow/enjoy into 12 spots!

As for the people I tag- the unique way that this tag works is that the people mentioned are the people tagged! Therefore, if I linked to you for any of these questions, please consider yourself tagged, and I would absolutely love to see you do this! Yay! 😉

With love,

                 Amy Lou ❤

P.S. Merry Christmas Eve Eve! XD

I recently said I’m backing off from tags but this is honestly one I have never come across before so I’m doing it! No clue when – well, hi procrastinating queen – but I will! 😀 Definitely a fun way to connect with new bloggers as well so I’m all for that!

  4. Aw (sis? <3) thank you so much for the mention and tag. Genuinely so spooky that the timing worked to match my comeback – do you know something I don’t? A witch are we?

Honestly though what you wrote was so sweet and I appreciate it immensely! Excited to make some cozy new bookstagram photos (may have a little photoshoot tomorrow – we’ll see!) and start interacting with everyone again, reading their blogs, and social media-ing 🙂 Glad we got to talking earlier this year, and excited to properly carry on now.

Also, a tag dedicated to highlighting blogger love?! WHAT MORE COULD ONE WANT?
