The Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag

Thanks so much to Michelle @ The Writing Hufflepuff for nominating me! It sounds like this tag was originally created by Trey @ Trey Schnarr Books, but as his blog is protected, I learned this from Tabitha @ Bows & Bullet Reviews.

Now guys… I was tagged for this in November. Of… 2015. I cry.

I know, I know. Two tags in a row? But alas, you see, I’m incredibly behind on my list of tags. And besides, it’s a blogger tag. ‘It’s the season to be jolly. And catch up on tags. *rolls up sleeves* LET’S DO THIS THING.

How long have you been a blogger?

I looked it up to be sure, and it’s been just about 2 1/2 years. This is actually our first post (review of The Immortal Rules) if you’re so inclined…. *cringe* It’s terrible. I apologize in advance. But I wouldn’t take it back for the world.

At what point do you think you will stop?

Honestly, I would hope never, but I’m not sure. I’ll keep rolling until either you all stop coming or I stop having fun doing it. Fingers crossed that’s never!

What is the best thing?

All of you glorious people, of course! Although sometimes I feel like I’m speaking into a void. I love you guys, but SPEAK UP.

What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it okay?

Definitely the pressure. Usually it doesn’t get to me, but lately I’ve been having a tough time of it. But when it’s too much… I de-stress. You know, books. Fabulous internet people (AKA you). Obsessively watching BooksandLala and/or Hailey in Bookland and/or Good Mythical Morning. The ‘usual. (Omg look at me how fancy)

How long does it take you to create/find pictures to use?

I used to always get pictures off of the internet… and then I realized that’s #rude and totally stealing. So now I make my own using Canva (Analee @ Book Snacks converted me from PicMonkey and THANK THE LORD. IT IS GLORIOUS.). Honestly, it depends. Sometimes probably 5-10 minutes? Sometimes maybe half an hour? I have no idea. Someone should time me on these things. I should be important enough to be timed.

Who is your book crush?

WUT I don’t even know. I don’t have book crushes. I promise I don’t lie. Although I am totally in love with Diana (Wonder Woman) and Felicity (Gentleman’s Guide). I’m currently reading Ruin and Rising and I happen to adore Nikolai. He is my FAVE SMOL CHILD.

What author would you like to have on your blog?

Honestly, I’m too terrified to be a professional. But I absolutely adore Mackenzi Lee’s tweets (and book obv.) and she’s so fabulous.

What do you wear when you write your blog posts?

Um, nothing special? Is this a thing? I wear normal clothes. Or sometimes my cozy PJs because they are fabulous.

How long does it take you to prepare?

Not gonna lie, I’m not a very prepared person. So pretty much 0 seconds. For most posts. Not all.

How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?

UM ITS FABULOUS.

I love it. Very much. Very very much. I find it utterly fabulous. Allllll the love.

What do you think one should do to have a successful blog?

Write about what you love, and enjoy yourself doing it!! If you’re having fun and being yourself, other people will enjoy reading your content.
