Hey guys! So… I totally disappeared this month. I’ve kind of lost my drive for blogging, and I apologize for not letting you all know. As it stands right now, I think I’m planning on doing blogmas/bookmas (posting every day in December)? Would you guys be interested in that? Definitely let me know in the comments; it’s still up for grabs.
Anyhoo, while I took a little break from blogging, I didn’t stop reading! I encountered a mini reading slump, but somehow I still managed to read a good amount of books. And I got into comics! As in, a lot of them! Goodreads technically says I read 35 books this month (I know, right??), but, not including any of the comics, I believe I read about 10. Not too bad, eh? To keep this short, I’m only going to list the comics by series (with which volumes I read) and just tell you how I’m feeling about it so far. Alright, let’s get into it!
Nimona- I honestly have no idea why it took me so long to pick this up. Literally EVERYONE has read it and loved it. Of course, I did too. It was a super quick read, there was a M/M romance, and Nimona is just so hilarious. FAB. ★★★★★
Gemina- AHHHHHHH I can’t even with this sequel. I loved Illuminae, but THIS SEQUEL. Totally blew me away. So incredibly fabulous. I can’t WAIT for the third book. I’m very excited for that to happen. 😉 ★★★★★
Wonder Woman: Warbringer- I FREAKING LOVE Wonder Woman. She’s my favorite superhero. I loooooove her. Too much. I loved how this book focused on friendships and romance, and I thought it was really well done. A+, Leigh Bardugo. ★★★★★
Paper Girls (Vol. 1-2)- This was the first comic I picked up, and I was surprised by how intrigued I was by it. The first volume was okay, but the second definitely piqued my attention. To be honest, I have zero idea whats happening with this series, and I love it. The art style is gorgeous, the characters are fabulous, I’m in. ★★★★
Loving Lakyn- This is a prequel/companion novel to another book I read and reviewed a while ago, Just Juliet. Like the first, it was super short and read really fast. To be honest, I have no idea what it is, but Charlotte Reagan’s writing is extremely addicting, and I just couldn’t put her books down. (Trigger warnings for… basically everything) ★★★★
Saga (Vol. 1-5)- When I first started this comic, I was completely obsessed with it. The concept of an “intergalactic” family that’s running from the law is just… So cool. In the last couple of volumes, however, I’ve been a bit disappointed with the direction the story has gone. I’ll still be continuing for a least a little bit, though, because I still have hopes that it’ll improve. ★★★★
Ms. Marvel (Vol. 1-6)- Okay, I have (somewhat recently) totally gotten into Marvel. I love the universe, so this snapshot into the world is SUPER fun and cool. I mean, the Avengers just randomly show up sometimes! I love it. Kamala is such an interesting character to follow and I LOVE her family. Especially in the last two volumes, I’ve become SOOO invested in her story, and I can’t wait to see what happens next. ★★★★★
United We Spy- I love Ally Carter’s books. Sooooo much. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to finish this series, but now that I have, I SOB. I miss it already. I can’t wait for her new standalone though! ★★★★★
The Thing With Feathers– I actually did a review of this one. It was super cute and fun, and I did enjoy it, although not quite as much as I had hoped. ★★★★
Lumberjanes (Vol. 1-6)- This comic series is SO adorable. I love the characters and the friendships, and of course, their adventures are always entertaining. My opinion goes up and down though, because the art style is constantly changing (as the illustrator is constantly changing). I really enjoy the original art style, and although I like the other art styles, I feel like it infringes on my experience of the series. ★★★★
How to Murder Your Life- I requested (and received) this book on Netgalley a long time ago, and I honestly had no idea what it was about. It’s a very gritty autobiography in my opinion. I ended up checking it out from the library as an audiobook, and oh my gosh was it addicting. I could NOT stop listening. Alas, It’s always really strange to rate people’s lives, so I still don’t really know how I feel about this book. It was addicting. She’s had some terrible, somewhat interesting experiences. So…. ★★★
Wytches (Vol.1, only volume published)- This was an interesting concept, and I enjoyed the art style, but it was extremely dark and I actually had a difficult time reading and understanding the story because I could. Not. See it. Yikes. It was really weird, too, and not necessarily in a good way. Even if there were move volumes, I don’t think I would pick them up. ★★★
Solo- I had had this book on my TBR for AGES, so when I saw it listed for the Goodreads awards, I had to check it out from the library. And I ended up enjoying it! I love books written in verse, so this one read really quickly for me. It wasn’t quite the “incredible” story I was hoping for, but I did like it. ★★★★
Renegades- I’m honestly just so glad that Marissa Meyer is still continuing to try new things and write new things. I love her books and I’m so excited to see her new books. And I LOVED this one! It was truly fantastic. I loved the “villain” perspective and the classic hero/villain conflict turning into a “who’s the villain” kind of thing. I don’t even know; I’m super invested in the characters and I’m so excited to see where she goes with the sequel! ★★★★
Scythe- Everyone has been telling me to read this book for so long. Even (especially!) people who aren’t usually readers. It’s so weird. I’m so glad I picked it up, though! It has such an intriguing premise and I’m glad to finally understand the hype, haha! I’m just in time for the sequel, and I’m so intrigued to find out what happens next. ★★★★
Runaways (Vol. 1-2)- This is a pretty old comic for a “young adult” series, and it’s been recommended all over the place. It’s a really unique premise, and it’s just such a neat idea. I’m enjoying it so far, but I’m not sure how I feel about the character interactions/development that have recently happened, so hopefully it improves in the sequels. ★★★★
Whew! That’s it! I know that was pretty long, but I hope you guys still enjoy these wrap-ups! Definitely let me know in the comments. Again, I apologize for not telling you guys I was going to disappear; I’m really trying to work on that. Aaaaand let me know if you’d be interested in seeing me do bookmas/blogmas this next month! I’m not sure if I’d be able to keep it up (what with finals and everything) all month, but I’d definitely give it my best shot. In any case, I’ll be going now, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on any of these books, or anything you’ve read this month/recently! (And if you have any favorite Christmas/holiday/winter book recommendations, that would be fabulous too!)
It is great list 🙂

Hope to finally get to Wonder Woman this month. It’s been sitting on my shelf since September! Also, is your blog snowing? That’s so cool!

Hahaha I totally understand the feeling! I ended up flying through it and I had a fabulous time reading it. I totally love Wonder Woman. Have you seen the movie?
Yes, it is!! I set it up last year and it must have automatically done it again, haha. It’s in the WordPress site settings (somewhere) and it’ll automatically make your blog snow from the beginning of December to a little bit after the new year. I think it’s super fun, haha!
