Just your typical boring Tuesday announcements….

Well, I suppose they’re not really typical. Ahem. Hey guys, it’s Amy! Recently, I read Cait @ Paper Fury’s post about why/how she’s going on hiatus. And I thought to myself, “I couldn’t ever take an intentional hiatus.” And then I thought…. whyever not? I mean, stats… And blogging is my life… But other than that, I have no particular need to blog every single day, every week, every month, or at all. I’M NOT LEAVING FOR GOOD. DON’T WORRY. But I’ve just realized that it took me about two weeks to read as many books, and I’m too tired and I don’t have enough time to blog. I don’t have the writing juice. And I would like to work on actual writing- ahem, story writing. (This is real writing, right?) And reading. And setting up all of my Instagram photos for October- I’m actually going to try to go the whole month this time! Not to mention Twitter. Or the huge disappointment that I will explain in just a minute. I no longer have all the time in the world and absolutely no schedule. I have SCHOOL. And I’m working on Blogwarts right now as well! Can I do all of these at the same time? Well, I would like to think so. I believe I can. But I have to get a handle on it all, and I have to WANT to do it. I don’t have any time whatsoever to do things I don’t want to do, so I want to narrow it down to the things I do. STILL NOT SAYING I WANT TO LEAVE THE BLOG. I just need to chill out a bit. And thus, I’m announcing a hiatus! I plan on coming back on October 1st, but it could be a little later if I start enjoying myself too much. 😉 I’ll be starting work on the Blog Ahead Challenge regardless. But I just need a little break.

Secondly- if you’ve been reading my latest posts, I’ve been talking about my new blogging achievement- 750 followers. Well…. WordPress is evil. Clare @ Blank Slaters Reads wrote the loveliest post on being content with your blog stats, and basically it led to me asking about how she got so many followers so quickly…. And she told me that when you have Publicize hooked up to Twitter, it adds your Twitter followers to your “following by email” number. Totally not her fault, but I immediately took off Publicize and it took off about 300 followers. Hence the new number. Stats aren’t everything, but they are nice, and unfortunately my bubble was burst big-time. Oh well, it does make sense, and I had kind of been wondering if they were all true anyways, because I didn’t think that number correctly matched my everyday stats. I’m glad to know that over 450 of you are actually out there caring about my content! 🙂
