Oliver, Jumpy, a fairy, and- oh look! Magic berries!

Hello again! It’s Amy, and I’m continuing with the review requests! My last requested review was for both Elphie and Dad Go On An Epic Adventure and Bravo and Ephie by Hagit R. Oron & Or Oron. That double review was the first time I had ever reviewed a picture book, so hopefully my second time will be better!

Oliver and Jumpy, Stories 43-45 (Oliver and Jumpy, the Cat Series, Book 15): Fantasy fairy tales bedtime stories with a cat and kangaroo
Oliver and Jumpy by Werner Stejskal

Rating: 2.5/5 Stars

Genre: Children’s Fiction

Published: March 16th, 2016

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Oliver and Jumpy go on three separate adventures- first, to pick up a princess on a magic carpet and take her to her prince. Next, Oliver received a surprise birthday party, with cake and whimsical presents, as well as play and fun. Finally, Joey ate unknown berries that caused him to change shape, and Oliver had to help him go back to normal.

Although I enjoyed the stories, sometimes the writing was a little bit confusing and/or difficult to read, for multiple reasons. The pictures were cute, but sometimes they were unclear, did not really make sense, or didn’t relate very well to the story.
Overall, Oliver and Jumpy was just a quick, cute read, but not my favorite illustrated book ever.

I know this was a rather short review, but hey, short and to the point, right? 🙂 I’m currently not accepting any review requests, but it’s simply temporary until I get a little more caught up. Hope you’re all lovely! Toodles!

Have you read this book, or another in the series? What did you think of it? Do you plan to in the future? Tell me everything down in the comments, they always make my day! 🙂
