Helloooooo! So (evidently) I have done something stupid. Again. Let’s have a look-see, shall we?
A few days ago, I took a look at my gorgeous bookshelf and realized that it was kind of hidden. It was placed at the foot of my bed, where it was difficult for me to access and the lighting is ALWAYS bad, so I could never see what I was looking at. So, smart little tired, barefoot me, decides to move a heavy piece of furniture by myself at night.
7 reasons not to move heavy furniture by yourself at night when you are tired and barefoot. AKA why Amy is stupid.
1) It just sounds bad. I mean, come ON. It’s really not that hard, is it?
2) Because it was pretty before….

3) This happens:
4) I haven’t even MENTIONED the matter of SAFETY. Me being the idiot that I am, I wasn’t really interested in taking out all the books. So I moved it. With the books. My toes are very lucky to be intact.
5) It’s sweaty. And hot. And so much easier to just ask for help….
6) Unless you have more than two arms/hands, the doors will fly out and hit you. FANtastic.
7) I have to repeat. IT’S SO MUCH WORK!!!
But alas, I did not die, fall, or lose any of my toes. And I’m happy with the result, so all is well!
Have you guys done anything similarly stupid/dangerous? What do you think now? What does your bookshelf look like? Talk to me in the comments! I won’t bite!
I’m glad to hear everything worked out well. Last year I bought a green light bulb from Lowes. I thought it looked really cool and would be fun to have a green light bulb instead of the dull, regular light bulb. Well when I got home I tried, ripping the light bulb out of the package instead of removing it the correct way. Within seconds it flew out of the plastic container and smashed on the floor. I haven’t bought a green light bulb since.

Haha thanks! Oh my gosh! It must have been so traumatizing. 😀 Glad you’ve chosen to stay off the dangerous path, hehe.

My other half and I like to move furniture late on night. Though it’s not so bad, because he can actually lift things with minimal effort. It looks like it turned out well though, so it’s no so bad, right?
Also, I love the pink guitar (I think it’s a guitar…? Love it either way)!

Hahaha. Well, that works! Yeah, it was all good. 🙂
Thanks! Yes, it is, actually. I got it a long time ago and I know how to play exactly three notes, so… Mostly decoration haha. It’s way out of tune. 🙂

I’ve done a lot of stupid things but nothing furniture related. I tend to avoid any form of heavy lifting.
I have stubbed my toe on many a piece of furniture. Not the same but it still sucks.

Hahaha I completely understand. 😀 Unfortunately, I have too! I had many very close calls with the edge of the bookshelf and my toe. 😦

Haha, I love to read your posts! 😀
I once had TV (those big, bulky old ones from the 90s) fall on me, I was *sucks in air* like 4 yo. Then the (I’ll call it a desk for now I don’t know what it’s called, it has doors) desk fell on me as well. I ended up breaking the tape player so now we can’t watch any home movies that were tape recorded. But I survived. Haha lol.
Everybody’s clumsy, I’m just more than other haha. 😀
