Woohoo! Welcome to Amy’s Day 1 of the 3 Days, 3 Quotes Challenge! I have really enjoyed seeing all of your guys’s posts and I hope you like ours too! We love quotes. 😉 The thanks are all due to Jordan @ Words… I Need Words…, Analee @ Book Snacks, and Nova @ Confessions of a Literary Addict for the nomination! 🙂 All of these wonderful people nominated us quite a while ago (yikes- I just saw some of the dates), but I still thought it was worth doing! Although, as I’m sure many of you have noticed, Nikki has been taking a break from blogging due to life (it does get in the way sometimes, now doesn’t it?), there is a very good chance that she will be back soon and hopefully do her own version of the challenge!
Come now, let us embark on this journey together!
The rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you.
- Post a quote for 3 consecutive days.
- Nominate three new bloggers each day.
For my first quote, I wanted to pick something a little bit unusual. If you are friends with me on Goodreads, you might be aware of the fact that I don’t really have any quotes “saved”. This is partially due to the fact that I don’t really understand this section of Goodreads, and partially because I know that I love quotes so much that if I go into that hole, I will never come out. However, I do have a couple, one of which I think is so unique and so real. I have not read the book it comes from, nor anything by the author, or even really heard of her, but the quote definitely rings true nonetheless.
“She wasn’t a person to whom things happen. She did all the happenings.”
-Muriel Spark, Aiding and Abetting
Often in life we (or at least I) catch ourselves thinking, “Why can’t I have a life like that? How come I’m not as far as I wanted to be?” Really, though, we should be thinking, “That looks like a wonderful life, and I want it for myself. I shall go about getting it for myself on the morrow.” Only the luckiest of people have things simply happen to them. It’s those that go out and get for themselves what they want that go places in life.
My Nominees:
I got a little old-fashioned-y at the end there, but I hope you guys enjoyed my first post of the 3 days, 3 quotes tag! Of course, feel free to ignore my tag if you want; it’s simply an invitation, not an order (as if)! Be sure to let me know what you think of this quote (and whether you’ve read the book or anything else by the author, if it’s good, etc.) down below in the comments. Remember, I don’t bite!
I hope Nikki is ok ❤ Life has gotten in the way for me lately too. Tell her she isn't alone!
