Hey, guys! Wait, stop rewind. I guess I better tell you who I am since I’m never here and you’re probably used to Amy all the time. Which isn’t a bad thing because she’s pretty great. But I’m happy to announce that it’s Nikki you’re speaking to today! Even though you aren’t speaking to me at all (unless you leave a comment, which is totally awesome and appreciated), just listening to me ramble… Ah, potato pototo (I think they’re spelled the same, but I’m trying to illustrate a point here, so please just go with it. :). Technicalities. 😉 Anyway, I’m here because Amy is very persistent and dragged me here against my will, away from my precious Winter (!!!), which should be a crime but isn’t because I think I’m finally ready to share another one of my meme ideas with you even though as far I’m concerned none of you have been doing Recently Finished Friday.
Normally I’d scold you, but I’ll let it slide because I haven’t exactly been keeping up with it very well either. 😦 But would you guys please do me a favor and let me know if you even like it so I can try and make an effort to do it more often for your viewing please? Thanks, that would be great. 🙂 Anyway, (How many times am I going to use this word today? Whoever keeps track gets a gold star! 🙂 if you please up and cast a quick glance at the title, you’ll see the words “Shout-out Sunday.” How what could that possibly mean? Well, lucky for you, I feel like sharing today. YAYYYYY! (Umm, why is no one “Yayyying” with me? We’ll have to work on that. Right now. Okay, I don’t care if you’re a crowded building at school or at work and you’re sneaking glances at our blog because it’s irresistible (Yea, yea, we’ve heard it all before.) or in your bedroom alone. On the count of three, we’re all going to say the word “Yay!” out loud together. One… two. three: YAYYYYY!!!!!! Now, if you actually “Yayed,” comment and tell me so we can be best friends forever. If you didn’t yay, awe, who am I kidding? I can’t stay mad at you guys.) Ok, sorry for the detour, but now that we’ve all “yayed,” I’m sure we all feel a lot better. 🙂 I’m going to try and make this quick you can go on your lives and I can go back to reading Winter! I wasn’t when I said Amy dragged me here; I was only lying (a little) when I said it was against my will. 🙂 So if you haven’t come to this realization yet, Shout-out Sunday is a new meme that I came up with (Yay me! Just kidding!) and I hope you’ll all really enjoy. I’m not going to bother with a detailed explanation because once you read the rules and the rest of my post (Hopefully you’ll read the rest of my post.), you’ll catch on pretty quickly.
Alright, here are the rules:
- Include one shout-out for an “old” blog (Old meaning you discovered it a while ago; it doesn’t matter when they started blogging.) that you’ve loved for a long time now. Please try to limit yourself to one old blog per post so you don’t run out due to the fact that this is supposed to be (Key words.) a weekly meme. 🙂
- Include one or two (If you really want to you can include up to three or four, but more than that so you don’t bore your audience. Take it from me, I’m a boring expert. 🙂 “new” blog/blogs. (Again, it doesn’t matter when they started blogging, just when you discovered them.)
- Include one or two (If you’re like Amy, three or four. I tease because I love. 🙂 shout-outs for posts that you absolutely loved this week. You don’t even have to have loved them; they just could have been posts that made you think or stuck with you throughout your week.
- Extra Credit that’s sort of required: Include one or more book shout-outs (After all, this is a bookish meme. :). Along with the book title and author and cover picture, if you can, please include your rate on a scale of one to ten and also either a synopsis and or a link to the Goodread’s page.
- More Extra Credit that’s sort of encouraged but not enforced: This part is just something fun and cute that will help your followers get to know you better. Include two or more songs that you’ve been addicted to this week (This is my favorite part.) and why you love them if you can explain it. Sometimes you can’t. 🙂 If you like visual media (Fancy.), include either a TV show or movie, or both, that you loved this week.
Sorry I made them so long, but it’s actually pretty simple. Well, let’s just started. Down the rabbit-hole we go…
Alright, I totally see Amy’s point now when we were debating the rules. I love all of these “old” blogs so much that it’s going to be hard to chose. At least there’s next week! Know that if I don’t choose you this week, it doesn’t mean I love you any less!! That being said, I think my choice is pretty clear this week. Analee @ Book Snacks is my “something old” this week. My reasons for selecting this lovely blogger are: I haven’t been very active in the blogging community, as you guys are well aware, this past season (Which is Winter; how I miss my book….) and haven’t spoken with Analee in a while which is a true shame because she such a delightful (Where am I getting my words today??) person, talented blogger, and great friend who has been there since Amy and I first started this blog. Analee, if you’re out there, I love you and we need to talk soon!! 🙂 ❤
Luckily, I get to choose two blogs for this section. Who made these dumb rules anyway?!?! Oh, right… Ignore that, please. If you bothered to read the last lengthy paragraph, you could spotted the line, “I haven’t been very active in the blogging community…” And I’m confirming that fact for a second time, sadly but oh-so-truly. Amy really wanted to start this meme today, and to help me in this section she sent me the links of some new blogs she had become addicted to, and that is where both of my “somethings new” come from. I actually just got back from the doctor after wasting three hours of my life, and they said I didn’t have walking pneumonia, but I did have some sort of viral infection and sentenced to house arrest for two days. Normally, I would be thrilled but basketball starts tomorrow and I can’t afford missing any practice lest my current position of starting pointguard be taken any from me so harshly and wrongly. You guys don’t need to hear my sob story, but basketball is my entire life other singing, valued even above reading, so I need all the luck I can get right now and I would really appreciate if you guys would say a quick prayer for me and keep me in your thoughts. 🙂 Anyway, my two picks of the week are: Luna from My Irrelevant Thoughts and Selfie from The Meandering Course. These two ladies don’t really know me, as I have made my presence known and finished my avid stalking operations, but some what I’ve seen so far, their blogs are totally awesome and you should definitely check them out! You should also keep an eye out of the blog they’re starting together (Totally exciting!), The Happy Yellow Duck. From what I’ve gathered so far, one of them (I believe it’s Luna…) loves basketball and they both love singing. I love them both already!! My two passions combined! I have a feeling they’ll be seeing a lot more of me…
I don’t know if this really counts as cheating, but both of my posts that I’ve totally loved come from Selfie’s blog, The Meandering Course. I swear I’m not prejudiced; I’ve just been too lazy to browse some more. Which sounds like I’m undermining Selfie, which I’m totally not. Would everyone please pardon my crimes and excuse me, the delirious, sick, tired person whom is staying up late to finish this post, when sleep deprivation from running her self ragged doing all these activities is how she came to this sad state in the first place? Wow. Sorry to guilt ya into that one! 😉 Ok, let’s wrap this up, people. I’m exhausted and I’m sure you are, too. Post Number One, although found on Selfie’s blog, was not actually written by Selfie. It was a lovely, witty, thought-provoking, and helpful, very helpful post written by the talented blogger who goes by L. I’m not going to explain his post because I really hoe you’ll check it out for yourself! But if you’re reading this, L, you’ve helped me a ton! If I’ve piqued your interests, this is the link to his blog. Tell me if you like it, as I have yet to check it out! Post Number Two was written by Selfie and it’s a great, cute, and EXCITING post explaining how she and Luna are creating their blog! Luna has also written a post concerning the same subject, but I have yet to read it.
I’VE TOTALLY BEEN OBSESSED WITH WINTER AND HAVEN’T FINISHED IT YET AND IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHY I’M SO OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK, WHY THE WORLD IS SO OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK, YOU DON’T DESERVE CAKE.
SEE THIS??? YOU DON’T GET ANY UNTIL YOU BUY YOURSELF A COPY OF CINDER, WHICH IS THE FIRST BOOK IN THE LUNAR CHRONICLES!!!!!!!!
Just give me a moment to compose myself, please. Well, I’m currently listening to One Direction’s new album, Made In The A.M. and still obsessed with it for obvious reasons. If you’re one of those people who goes around dissing 1D, I would like to point out that obviously they’re doing something right because: A. They’re rich and B. due to the fact that they have millions of fans who love their music. Crunch on that for a while or two. That’s right, TWO WHOLE WHILES!!!! Again, they’re music so beautiful to me and makes me feel something, but then again all my music does. It’s just one of those things that can’t be explained. Let’s backtrack to Analee and her Booksnacks. When I was checking the link to her blog, I noticed the first post on her blog was a-boot Canadians. 🙂 And that make me think of Barney and Robin, two characters in the glorious show, How I Met Your Mother. 🙂 Again, don’t really need to explain why I love that show.
Thank you so much for reading this whole, long, lengthy post for those of you who actually did! I really hope you like this meme and want to participate in it! Please comment and let me know your opinions, thoughts, and feelings. They’re all pretty much the same thing! 🙂 Umm… am I forgetting something! Duh; I’m forgetting the most important part! I LOVE YOU, GUYS!!!!!!!!!
*A little afternote: I’m sorry this post is on Monday, but honestly, what else did you guys except from me? I was sooo tired, and I have to get my sleep if I want to get better. Plus, I didn’t do all the edits and stuff ’til this morning so I hope you guys like this. Again, I’m forgetting the most important part: I FINISHED WINTER!!!!!!!!! IT’S SO AMAZING!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY, IT’S SOOOOOO SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE NO WORDS!!!!!!! EXCEPT CLEARLY I DO, BUT THEY AREN’T VERY GOOD ONES!!!! I CAN’T DECIDE WHAT MY FAVORITE SERIES IS: THE LUNAR CHRONICLES, THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS, OR THE THRONE OF GLASS SERIES. I THINK IT’S WHATEVER I’M CURRENTLY READING… But anyway, don’t let the fact that it’s Monday deter you. If you like this meme and want to go for it,
One last thing, I promise. Here are two edits I made in honor of WInter, that I like to think are pretty great:
I hope you love, love, love them like I do! Well, that really is it! Final Word Count: 2,066. So much for keeping this short… Hope you enjoyed it none the less. Love, Nikki!!!
This is such a sweet meme! 😀 I’m looking forward to the next editions so I can discover more blogs! BARNEY AND ROBIIIIIIIN. They will forever be my OTP. THEY ARE PERFECT
