Hello all you bookworms, you! 😉 It’s Amy here, back to finish up June with you! Okay okay, you caught me: I’m spouting nonsense to make it feel like I experienced June right along with you… Anyway! Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
Top Ten Books I’ve Read So Far In 2015
Well now, that’s not a fair question, now is it? Hmmmmm…. What to do, what to do?!? There’s no way I can pick only ten for this. Seriously.
Well guys, its early June as I write this. So… I’m going to make a list of all the books I read in May, rate them (on a scale of five), and tell you more about why I chose it.
Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell –
4.9 stars. This book was basically perfection. However, something about it sent me a negative vibe. So it gets a tenth of a point off for that…
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard –
3 stars. Alright, I have a ton of mixed feelings about this book, let me just tell you. When I first finished this book, I rated it five stars on goodreads and raved to Nikki about how it was such an incredible book. But one or two-ish weeks later, I told her I hated it!!! So, I really didn’t know what to think. However, I think I have come to terms with the ending and decided that it was wonderfully written and I love the premise and the whole idea, so I’m willing to look past all the bad, awful things I hated about this book to give it a halfway decent review. Yes, we will be doing a review on this book. Right after Nikki READS IT!!! Hint hint.
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas –
4.5 stars. Wonderful book! My interest in this series increased twofold after this book. XD However, my FEELS are telling me I hate Ms. Maas for BREAKING UP MY NEW OTP!!!!!!!!
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead –
4.9 stars. Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Except I felt like Lissi was a little dry, she could use some character building. Now, I have not read the rest of the series. So I speak solely for this book.
Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev –
4 stars. A beautiful concept, with such an interesting style of writing. I would definitely reread it or read the sequel if you adked, but sometimes I felt like I was missing some things, and I couldn’t always picture the scenes, etc.
The Forever Song by Julie Kagawa –
4.5 stars. Wait, what???????? Okay, it’s been a while since I rated these, but I have no idea what I was thinking. This was a beautiful five star read. Up top , Julie.
Angelfall by Susan Ee –
4.9 stars. A wonderful story, but… I JUST HAVE SO MANY FEELS!!!!!!!!!
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas –
4.9 stars. Because not enough Chaol. There is never enough Chaol for me. EVER!!!!!
Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge –
4.5 stars. I loved the style and the story, but sometimes the characters didn’t quite connect with me.
These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman –
4.9 stars. Okay, all of these need to be five stars. But I felt it was too cheesy that way…
Disney at Dawn by Ridley Pearson –
3 stars. Cute story, but a children’s book set in Disney World can only be so good.
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare –
4.5 Hallelujiah! Loved it! But please, Clary, stop messing around with Jace. SIMON LOVES YOU!!!!!
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak –
4.9 stars. Um. How could anyone give it a perfect score with that ending!!!!!
Well, guys, *sniffle sniffle* it’s the end of another post. Which means I have to say goodbye. I HATE GOODBYES!!!! So, um, so long suckers? Nah. Not my style. Until we read again! (Now that’s more like it)
Great post! I’ve read 7 of the books on here and love them! I have Crimson Bound sitting on my night stand right now (just got it at the library today). I need Red Queen and a couple of the others.
Throne of Glass, VA, and The Book Thief are all some of my favorites! These Broken Stars is another beautiful one that I adored.
I like the way you did the post this week. Nicely done!

Thanks! All the books you listed are simply FABULOUS! Yes, you listed RQ. I think I’ve finally come to terms with the ending. If asked again, I’d give it 4 stars instead. Thanks again! 🙂

That’s so pretty! Hard choice… but I’m naturally drawn to chaos… My opinion is biased. Ask Amy!

Ohhh. You were asking me which one I was talking about. I thought you were asking me which one I liked better! I was talking about Mother Chaos, but they’re both beautiful!

Ahh cool, I just wanted to clarify. I get a lot of comments on my name but it’s rare I get a comment on my screen name.
XD me too. That’s why my blog is Little Bits of Chaos. Mother Chaos was a title I was given while on an old book blog called Chaos Reads (which I thought of– it’s not used anymore) because I was the oldest on there and I tended to be motherly to the rest lol. I really liked it so I kept it and reused it ^^

Lol, that’s awesome! You should be like Aleya Chaso. Like Kim Possible, but cooler. 🙂

I loved so many of these books, especially The Forever Song!

Absolutely! The Forever Song is, like, my guideline for all books. It’s like the image of perfection, don’t you think so?

Especially for vampire books. They are certainly a popular topic among YA books but Kagawa brought so much originality with that trilogy. It’s a must own for me soon!

Absolutely! Same here. I need to read more books by her, she’s truly fantastic! 😉

I read her Talon books that they just didn’t do it for me, not like the Blood of Eden trilogy. Which was kind of disappointing.

Definitely! I know a lot of people really liked those books so it’s probably just me, aha. I’ve considered trying her Iron Fae series but not sure if I’m into that right now. I hope you like her other stuff!

Hey, it’s pretty hard to top yourself when what you have to top is perfection! If the only good thing she ever wrote was the Blood of Eden series, I will still love her! (Wow, I get creepier every day!)

Not creepy! At least not to me! I like plenty of books by authors who wrote other stuff that I hated. There are very few authors whose works I love no matter what they write.

🙂 I completely see where you’re coming from. Except for kids books, when I read those it was EVERYTHING by the same author and then on to the next, you know?

Ah yeah, I remember those days well. I realize now I read some pretty weird stuff when I was a kid. But then again I just read what I could get my hands on too. Now I’m too picky, aha.

I think I love you! And that sounded creepy, so you should back away slowly now. 🙂

Hehe. Many would disagree and choose backing away instead. (That’s probably the smarter option, but hey, talkin to Nikki is more fun that hiding!)

there’s no fun in backing away from love, especially shared love over books!
