One-Hundred Followers: Thanks, Updates, and More!

Oh my Galligaskins!! Guys, Amy and I have one-hundred followers. One-hundred crazy people who like, well put up with, our random ramblings! And by followers, I mean you wonderful people! I’m actually sort of speechless for a change… not! In honor of this special event, I, Nikki, am going to tell you a tale of two girls.

About two months ago, on April 4th, two rambunctious, imaginative, talkative (One more than the other. Now who could that be?) girls had the crazily ridiculous idea of creating a blog to share their love on books with the world. So, they did their research, and created a WordPress account. Then, they reviewed their favorite book, published said review, and anxiously bit their fingernails while waiting for the world to judge them.

Flash forward two months later, and those same two girls now have ONE HUNDRED followers and twenty-two posts between them. Those girls have worked tirelessly and have stayed up late working on homework because they decided to do their TTT as soon as they got home from school for fear of Amy’s wrath. (Oops, maybe I should edit that part out…;)) Those two girls are feeling very proud of themselves and each other, for they couldn’t have done it without the other. And do you know why they did it? Why they worked so hard? I do. Because of their need and lust for writing, because they love reading, because they have a great community of bibliotastical (a combination of bibliophile and fantastical) people to fall back on if they need to do so. You guys are so fun, witty, funny, patient (You have to be in order to read my encyclopedias of posts.), and so many other amazing adjectives that even as a writer I cannot describe you. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our posts, interact and comment with us, share good books (Very important!), and make us smile. You have no idea how much that means to us.

Thank you for believing in us (or you accidentally clicked the follow button and didn’t have the heart to undo it.) Either way, we’re glad you did.

Post Script: I actually hate the word “follower” because to me, it seems degrading, like a way to label you and make you just a crowd of faceless, mindless, well, followers. You guys are so much more than that, and all very different! You’re people, not cattle! (I’m against treating animals that way as well, but I couldn’t of another way to describe it. I’m literally ashamed of my hypocrisy. Feel free to throw all the tomatoes you want. Maybe get a little wild and add some cucumbers in there!) I apologize for using that word, and will try to refrain from doing so in the future.

Nikki! You stole all the good stuff!!! *pushes her aside out of the camera’s view* Amy’s BACK!!! Although I never left… That’s beside the point. Nikki really did take everything! Hmmm… Oh well. I guess I always have more to say… Enough of those dot dot dots. (They’re annoying me too, trust me.)

First and foremost, my wrath is to be feared. 😉 Period end of story. Now, let me just make it clear, we’re not perfect. Heck, you guys aren’t perfect! (Don’t take it personally. I’m talking to one hundred people here) Because nobody is. So we are VERY honored for sticking by us as we figure out how to look “professional”, how to be goofy (NFN: The doctor is in!) but not overly so, and how to be annoyingly awesome like good, experienced bloggers.

Now, again (grrr), there’s not much more to be said (AHEM NIKKI COUGH COUGH). But we would like to make a few announcements. 😉

We love to write (obviously)! We’ve been meaning to expand the type of content on this blog, to make it about more than just reading. And we think we’ve figured out a great, fun, and interactive way to do so. We want to share stories, but we also have competitive sides. (NFN: Some of us more than others. *clears throat*) So… We would like to bring in a friend of ours!!! Welcome to Nikki’s little sister, Bekah! We are planning to have a monthly contest between the three of us for the best story. Voting will continue all month. (NFN: Maybe sooner than that. I would love to do them biweekly, but we all know how much I already struggle with TTT.) They will be anonymous! (No favorites, people. We all know you’d pick Nikki.) (NFN: What can I do? My people adore me! I mean, they shower me with tomatoes everyday!) Bekah is only a couple of years younger than us, but she is wise beyond her years! (NFN: Well, I don’t know about that.) We will have her tell more about herself in the About Me page (new updates are coming soon!).

And… There is another part! You guys get to compete too. Every month (On one of the off weeks for our competition) we will ask each and every one of you to send us your short story! You can share your stories with you by sending them to our blog email which is listed in the About Me page. Each of us will pick one story, so there will be three winners. This will also go on for a month! Start writing, guys! 😉

Of course, any non-follower (although we hope you won’t stay that way for long) is welcome to vote and compete as well! Good luck guys, more info soon, and thanks again for being our faithful followers! (NFN: Moo-Moo! :))
